Today the Friars Minor is composed of three branches: the Order of Friars Minor (Brown Franciscans), Order of Friars Minor Capuchin (Brown Friars with long pointed hoods) and the Order of Friars Minor Conventual wearing grey or black habits. The Franciscan Friars Conventual raise our voices in solidarity with all people of good will in grieving the death of George Floyd. From its earliest times the word Conventual was used with the phrase "Friars Minor" to designate their life in community. Uneducated and with limited intellectual abilities, Joseph desired with all his heart to become a friar.
